I’ve been a client of Kierra’s for over 10 years, dating back to her Dallas days, and her knowledge, expertise, and skill are exactly why I will continue to support her business for years to come. For several years, I’ve traveled from Dallas to Houston specifically to have my hair colored by her—she’s that good. She is the only stylist I trust with my color, and I never have to worry about the integrity or health of my curls. Most recently, I had my hair colored in July 2025, and I absolutely love it. I receive compliments on my hair color weekly—and that is truly no exaggeration. Chic Shades Hair Salon offers a professional, warm, and welcoming environment, making every visit a truly lovely experience. This was my first time ever getting my hair done professionally, and the experience was amazing. My stylist, Mu’minah was spectacular, she talked me though all the steps through out my appointment. When she finished the layering, the curls and the cuts were exactly like my Pinterest inspo I showed her! Every stylist was so sweet to me and gave the perfect salon culture that I have desired since I was little! The best salon environment with talented, professional and kind stylists. They got me in the same day and did a fantastic job! I love my hair so much. Lukmina was so gentle with my wash and silk press. I have such a sensitive scalp and I can tell you, I felt zero tension or pain. They also gave me instructions on how to care for my hair at home and a longterm plan in order to achieve my hair goals. Will be back!

First time client here and it was great! It’s been a while since I’ve gone to a hair salon so I was a bit self conscious on the state of my hair, but Jeanae was very welcoming, reassuring and helpful! I got the scalp treatment, moisture treatment and a blow out to prep for a protective style and I am pleased. Looking forward to my next appointment! Also, very thankful for a natural hair salon in The Woodlands!

I’ve waited awhile to make a review because I wanted to be have a seasoned perspective. I’ve been going to Chic Shades for more than a year now after a decision to perm/relax my hair again. I knew this would be a journey that I wasn’t successful at in the past so I researched different salons for weeks before choosing Chic Shades to aide and guide me on my hair care journey. I wanted a full service salon that had multiple experienced stylists that specialized in black hair, an actual shop and not just an office suite, and a clean and professional space that was warm and welcoming. After countless tik tok and instagram searches for a hair salons that suited my needs, I found Chic Shades. They helped me kickstart and carried me through my relaxed hair journey, even through heat damage and breakage that I did to myself when I was going to the gym a lot. Not once did they make me feel like my hair was too much to manage or that it couldn’t be healthy again after I damaged it. They were always kind, uplifting, informative, and resourceful with options, plans and equipment and product recommendations to help me with my hair. I was looking for a salon that would not only offer full services, but also one that genuinely cared about me and my hair and I found that with Chic Shades. I would and have recommended this salon to friends and if you’re looking for a professional full service environment that caters to black hair, I would recommend Chic Shades to you.
